Murci Co., Ltd. (the "Company") values your privacy. This Privacy Policy (the "Policy") explains how the Company's website, pawtner.me (including its subpages, the "Website"), collects, processes and uses your personal data. The Policy applies only to the Website; the collection and use of personal data by the 毛股長 Pawtner APP is governed separately by the App's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy (pawtner.me/legal/app).
1. Categories of Data Collected, and Purposes
(1) Event submission data: when you take part in a submission activity on the Website (such as the "Nomdex" pet index), the Company collects the pet name, pet photo, species and breed, country and city, bio text you provide, and any social-media link you volunteer. The purpose of collection is to run, review and display the activity. Please note: do not include personal data such as names or contact details — yours or anyone else's — in the bio text or photo; the social-media link is volunteered by you and will be displayed publicly together with the submission.
(2) Website analytics data: with your express consent, the Website uses third-party analytics tools to collect statistics such as your device type, browser, approximate geographic location (not precise location), pages visited and time spent, in order to understand how visitors use the Website and improve its content and usability. See §4.
(3) Contact data: when you contact the Company by email or LINE, the Company receives your email address or LINE profile information and the content of your message, which it uses to respond to and handle your request.
(4) System logs: to maintain information security and normal system operation, the Website's servers automatically record the IP address and access logs of each connection.
2. Public Display of Submissions
Approved event submissions (including the pet photo, pet name, species and breed, location, bio text and social-media link) are displayed publicly on the Website and can be viewed by any internet user. Before submitting, please make sure you are willing to make that information public. You may at any time request removal of a displayed submission under §7.
3. Personal Data in the AI Scan Trial
(1) Account data: using the Website's AI scan service requires signing in with a LINE, Google or Apple account. On sign-in, the Company receives basic profile information from that provider (such as your display name, email address and the provider's user identifier), used to create and identify your account. The account is created in the Pawtner service's user system; once the App launches, the same account gives you access to your scan records.
(2) Scanned documents and recognition results: the Company collects the pet medical document images you upload, and the structured data an artificial-intelligence model reads from them (such as visit dates, diagnoses, medications and blood test values — your pet's health information). Images are downscaled and stripped of metadata (including GPS location) in your browser before upload. The purpose of collection is to provide the recognition service and to keep your scan records available to you, including after the App launches. Please note: before uploading, you may use the service's manual redaction tool to cover personal data on the document with black blocks; redacted areas are removed from the image in your browser and are never transmitted to the Company or any third party. The service does not automatically detect or redact text — please confirm before uploading that you have covered names, contact details or other personal data, yours or anyone else's, that you do not want processed.
(3) Third-party AI processing: for recognition, document images are transmitted to the third-party artificial-intelligence providers the Company uses, which process the data under their agreements with the Company; their servers may be located outside Taiwan. The Company does not use artificial-intelligence models or services provided by mainland-China providers.
(4) LINE friendship status: when you sign in with LINE or link a LINE account, the Company queries LINE for whether you are a friend of the Company's official LINE account and stores that status (yes/no), used to determine your daily scan allowance.
(5) Retention: your scanned document images and recognition results are kept so that you can access them later, until you request deletion or delete your account. You may at any time email hello@pawtner.me to request deletion of all or part of your scan data; the Company will complete the deletion within seven working days.
(6) Traffic-source attribution: to measure the service, the Company may record the traffic-source parameters (UTM) with which you arrived and associate them with your account, used for statistical analysis only.
4. Cookies and Analytics
(1) Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. The Website uses two categories of cookie:
1. Strictly necessary cookies: used to record whether you have consented to the cookies described in this section. These are required for the Website's basic functionality and are not used for analytics or advertising.
2. Analytics cookies: set by third-party analytic tools to measure website traffic and understand how visitors use the Website. The data collected includes your device type, browser, approximate geographic location (not precise location), the pages you visit and time spent. The Company has enabled IP anonymisation.
(2) Analytics cookies are loaded only after your express consent. Until you select "Accept" in the Website's cookie notice, the Company loads no analytic tools and transmits no data to any analytics provider. If you select "Reject", the Website loads no analytics tools at all.
(3) You may delete or block cookies at any time through your browser settings. If you delete the Website's cookies, the Website will ask for your consent again on your next visit.
(4) The providers of the third-party analytics tools process data additionally under their own privacy policies.
(5) The Website does not use advertising cookies, and does not sell or share your browsing data with third-party advertisers.
5. Period, Territory, Recipients and Means of Use
(1) Period: personal data is used for the duration of the purpose for which it was collected, and for any retention period required by law. Event submission data is retained for the duration of the activity and its display. Submissions the Company decides not to publish are deleted (including the photo) immediately upon that review decision; submissions you ask to have removed are deleted within seven working days. For the retention of AI scan data, see §3(5).
(2) Territory: within the Republic of China (Taiwan), and in the locations of the servers of the cloud service providers the Company uses (which may be outside Taiwan).
(3) Recipients: the Company, and the service providers that help the Company operate the Website — database and file storage, third-party website analytics, the artificial-intelligence recognition providers used by the AI scan service (excluding mainland-China providers), and the services you use to sign in (LINE, Google, Apple). The Company does not sell your personal data and does not provide it to third-party advertisers.
(4) Means: by automated machines or other non-automated means, through electronic media.
6. Data Security
The Company takes reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration or destruction. Please note, however, that no transmission over the internet can be guaranteed absolutely secure.
7. Your Rights
Under Article 3 of the Personal Data Protection Act, you may exercise the following rights in respect of your personal data: to enquire about or review it; to request a copy of it; to request that it be supplemented or corrected; to request that its collection, processing or use cease; and to request its deletion. To exercise these rights, or to request removal of a publicly displayed submission, please email hello@pawtner.me; the Company will handle your request as soon as practicable, and will complete removal of a displayed submission within seven working days.
Whether to provide personal data is your free choice; however, if the data is insufficient or incorrect, some services (such as the scan service or submission activities) may be unavailable or limited.
8. Minors
The Website is not primarily directed at minors under eighteen. Minors should obtain the consent of their legal representative before using the Website or taking part in submission activities.
9. Amendments
The Company may amend the Policy at any time, with amendments announced on the Website; for material changes, the Company will provide prominent notice on the Website. If you continue to use the Website after the Policy is amended, you are deemed to have accepted the amended Policy.
